NEW ITEMS WERE ADDED ON DECEMBER 4TH – ARTIFACTS FROM GETTYSBURG, ANTIETAM, CRAMPTON’S GAP, SHILOH, MONOCACY, SPOTSYLVANIA, TREVILIAN STATION AND RINGGOLD GAP!

It is all about the provenance!  When I began collecting Civil War artifacts back when I was a child, I was always much more interested in the recovery location of an artifact than the rarity or value of the artifact itself.  As a historian, I have made every effort to acquire artifacts with solid provenance.  The intent of this website is to offer Civil War relics with a historical connection so that the collector can feel secure in the knowledge that they are getting something from a specific event or place.  Each item includes a provenance letter with all of the details that I know about the piece.

Product Details

A bullet with a ram rod mark on the nose and struck rear first that was recovered at the site of the Battle of Payne's Farm, probably in the late 1960s. This comes from the collection of a Maryland relic hunter who kept everything that he found on each hunt in small identified cardboard boxes - I have included a photo of the label of the box that this relic was in (but the box is not included). The Battle of Payne's Farm was a small but fierce battle that occurred on November 27th, 1863 at the beginning of Meade's Mine Run Campaign. The battlefield was on the edge of the Wilderness and most of the fighting occurred in the tangled woods. The battlefield was recently purchased by the American Battlefield Trust. A provenance letter will be included.
