JUST ADDED ON 1/15 - THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM / DUNKER CHURCH - Three Brass Grommets from Ponchos or Tents
Three brass grommets - the largest is just under one inch in diameter and one of the small ones still has a little cloth attached - that were recovered close to the Dunker Church at Antietam in the 1960s. The Dunker Church is, perhaps, the most famous building on the Antietam battlefield and was at the heart of the morning's fight. I acquired these artifacts more than a decade ago, but it has been stored away until "rediscovered" last summer. A provenance letter will be included.
