JUST ADDED ON 1/15 - THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM / DUNKER CHURCH - Two Coat-Sized Uniform Button Backs
Two brass backs from coat-sized uniform buttons - one has an unreadable back mark and the other has no back mark - that were recovered close to the Dunker Church at Antietam in the 1960s. The Dunker Church is, perhaps, the most famous building on the Antietam battlefield and was at the heart of the morning's fight. I acquired this artifact more than a decade ago, but it has been stored away until "rediscovered" last summer. A provenance letter will be included.
