JUST ADDED ON 10/27 - THE BATTLE OF CHANCELLORSVILLE - Confederate Spherical Shell Fragment with Side Loader Hole and Collector's Identification Mark
This fragment (3 x 1 7/8 inches) from a 12 pounder spherical shell with painted C-169 mark retains a portion of a small threaded hole that would indicate that this was a Confederate side loader. It was once a part of the Ron Stonelake collection. Stonelake identified all of the relics that he found with a painted identification indicating the recovery location - C stands for Chancellorsville. A provenance letter will be included.
