JUST ADDED ON 10/6 - THE BATTLE OF GAINES' MILL - Pulled/Misfired .69 Caliber Round Ball with ORIGINAL COLLECTION LABEL - Recovered in the 1960s
This pulled/misfired .69 caliber round ball was a part of a large Pennsylvania collection of carefully identified relics. This bullet was with the accompanying typed label that identified it (based upon the date that the collector gave) as having been found at Gaines' Mill - this label will be included with the bullet. Gaines' Mill was the second battle of the famous Seven Days Battles of 1862. At Gaines Mill, the Union position was eventually broken (after a Confederate attack spearheaded by Hood's Texans) but at the cost of almost 15,000 casualties on both sides. A provenance letter will also be included.
