JUST ADDED ON 5/10 - THE WHEATFIELD / GETTYSBURG / GEISELMAN COLLECTION - Part of a Schenkl Artillery Shell Combination Fuse
This is another piece that I just "discovered." It is part of a Schenkl shell combination fuse that was found in the Wheatfield. I purchased this when the Horse Soldier first sold the Geiselman Collection (for $39.00) and it was part of my collection which I had stored away and just rediscovered. Geiselman began his collection of Gettysburg artifacts when he was a boy in the 1920s and had access to almost all of the prominent Gettysburg battlefield collections. He was meticulous in his relic identification and the collection, which was displayed for years in the Geiselman Country Store Museum, was carefully archived. A provenance letter will be included.
