JUST ADDED ON 5/16 - BATTLE OF FORT FISHER - Group of 7 Fired Bullets & Lead Relic - Some Mushroomed / Partial Mushroomed
A group of eight fired bullets that were recovered around Fort Fished in North Carolina. These are another recent inventory "discovery." I acquired these about eight years ago at the Gettysburg Civil War Collectors Show. I went through a larger selection of bullets that the gentleman had and picked out the ones that were mushroomed, partially mushroomed or were high velocity impact. I am not certain what the other lead piece is. Fort Fisher was one of the last Confederate strongholds on the Carolina Coast, allowing for blockade runners to continue to enter the waters near Wilmington, North Carolina. The fort was finally taken by assault in January of 1865. A provenance letter will be included.
