JUST ADDED ON 5/16 - THE BATTLE OF THE WILDERNESS - Really Unusual Fired Bullet - Flared out Skirt - with Relic Hunter's Original Label
This bullet, which definitely appears to have been fired because of the damage on the nose, has flared out like an umbrella. The force of what caused this was so intense that it actually caused the metal to split. The relic hunter who found it thought that it might have been another bullet that struck it from the rear. According to the original handwritten label, it was recovered at the site of the Battle of the Wilderness. About eight years ago, I walked into the Horse Soldier at Gettysburg and found that they had just added a group of artifacts with original collector's labels to one of the shelves. Since I am interested in items with good provenance, I picked out the relicss that I thought were most unique. I just rediscovered this group, so I am offering them in today's update. The Horse Soldier's inventory number is written on the back of the label. A provenance letter will be included.
