JUST ADDED ON 9/21 - THE BATTLE OF NORTH ANNA / BILL GAVIN COLLECTION - Two Dropped Bullets
Two dropped .58 caliber bullets that were recovered from the area occupied by the Union II and V Corps on the North Anna Battlefield by legendary relic hunter Bill Gavin. I have included a photo of Gavin's label that was with the relics, but this label is not included. William "Bill" Gavin is reported to have been the first relic hunter to use a metal detector to search for Civil War artifacts in 1947 when he searched the Cold Harbor battlefield. Over the years, he built a massive collection of dug artifacts and was a respected expert in the collecting and metal detecting field. A provenance letter will be included.
