NEW ITEMS WERE ADDED ON DECEMBER 4TH – ARTIFACTS FROM GETTYSBURG, ANTIETAM, CRAMPTON’S GAP, SHILOH, MONOCACY, SPOTSYLVANIA, TREVILIAN STATION AND RINGGOLD GAP!

It is all about the provenance!  When I began collecting Civil War artifacts back when I was a child, I was always much more interested in the recovery location of an artifact than the rarity or value of the artifact itself.  As a historian, I have made every effort to acquire artifacts with solid provenance.  The intent of this website is to offer Civil War relics with a historical connection so that the collector can feel secure in the knowledge that they are getting something from a specific event or place.  Each item includes a provenance letter with all of the details that I know about the piece.

Product Details

A brass cuff button with flower design (14 mm - tin back has rusted but shank is still evident) that was recovered in the Confederate trenches at Mine Run. This type of button is typically associated with Confederate use. The Mine Run Campaign was a potential major battle that never came to be. After Gettysburg, Meade was pushed to advance against the Confederate Army in Virginia and did so in November of 1863. After an intense fight around Payne's Farm, the Union Army came upon Lee's Army which was well-entrenched along Mine Run. Attacks were considered and the position was probed but ultimately it was determined that the position was too strong. A provenance letter will be included.
