JUST ADDED ON 1/8 - NASHVILLE - LARGE PIECE FROM THE INSOLE OF A CIVIL WAR SOLDIER'S BROGAN - Recovered in the 1990s during Construction of the Titan's Nissan Stadium
Out of stock
This is a large piece of the insole of a soldier's leather brogan (probably an 1851 Pattern Jefferson Bootee). It is 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches and you can still see the peg and stitch holes - the insole is complete except for the toe. It was recovered in the 1990s during the construction of the new football stadium of the Tennessee Titans (Nissan Stadium) in Nashville. Many other brogan pieces were recovered so whether this was a storage site or a dump site (probably from the Union occupation of the city) is unknown. A provenance letter will be included.
