JUST ADDED ON 2/13 - THE BATTLE OF CHANCELLORSVILLE - Confederate Artillery Shell Fragment with Root Attached dug by Andy Keyser
Out of stock
This small artillery shell fragment (1 3/4 x 1 3/8 inches), which still has small tree roots attached to it, was dug by me in the late 1980s from an area close to the Chancellor House (private property) and was almost certainly fired by a Confederate cannon posted at Hazel Grove. Confederate shells pummeled this area during the battle. One, in fact, stunned General Hooker, who had made his headquarters at the Chancellor House, temporarily knocking him unconscious. A provenance letter will be included.
