JUST ADDED ON 3/24 - THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM / DUNKER CHURCH - Two Coat Sized Coin or Flat Buttons
Two coat sized coin or flat buttons (both 22 mm - one missing the shank, one with the shank but bent), which are often associated with Confederate use, that were recovered close to the Dunker Church at Antietam in the 1960s. The Dunker Church is, perhaps, the most famous building on the Antietam battlefield and was at the heart of the morning's fight. I acquired these artifacts more than a decade ago, but it has been stored away until "rediscovered" last summer. A provenance letter will be included.
