JUST ADDED ON 3/24 - THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM / DUNKER CHURCH - Two Zouave Style or Ball Cuff Buttons
Two cuff sized zouave or ball buttons (13 & 11 mm - both missing the shank) that were recovered close to the Dunker Church at Antietam in the 1960s. The Dunker Church is, perhaps, the most famous building on the Antietam battlefield and was at the heart of the morning's fight. I acquired these artifacts more than a decade ago, but it has been stored away until "rediscovered" last summer. A provenance letter will be included.
