Product Details

Part of the combination fuse for a Schenkl artillery shell that was recovered from Devil's Den at Gettysburg. This artifact was part of the John P. Geiselman Collection - one of the most famous of all Gettysburg collections. Geiselman began collecting artifacts from the battlefield as a child in the early 1920s. Over the years, he amassed a huge collection of Gettysburg relics, each carefully identified by recovery location. For years his collection was on display at the Geiselman Country Store Museum in Gettysburg. After Geiselman passed away, the Horse Soldier acquired the collection and sold it off weekly. The demand was so high that items were sold almost immediately after being added to the catalog. I was keeping this artifact for myself until recently deciding to sell it. A provenance letter will be included.
